Dried okra

Dried okra (Hibiscus esculentus L or Dongo Dongo or lalo or m’loukhyya) is a hibiscus, whose fruits of the same name are used as a vegetable or a spice in the composition of many African dishes, Central and South America and Asia.

Okra is high in fiber and an ally for digestion. It combats constipation when regularly consumed in soup while consumed raw, and treats urinary incontinence. Okra has many medicinal properties, regulates glucose levels, lowers bad cholesterol, and fights arteriosclerosis. It fights genital disorders, reduces the duration of asthma manifestations and heals skin diseases. Okra is also a hair conditioner and a weapon against dandruff and lice.

Okra leaves also have virtues. Crushed in bath water, they tighten and their juice treats irritated skin. In addition to the flowers prepared in a water bath, they help relieve blisters on the feet and hands. Herbal tea made from the dry seeds of okra is diuretic and helps fight cystitis, high blood pressure, diabetes, and fever.
